David Farmbrough

The Rt Rev David John Farmbrough was Bishop of Bedford from 1981 to 1993.[1] He was born on 4 May 1929[2] and educated at Bedford School and Lincoln College, Oxford before embarking on an ecclesiastical career with a curacy at Bishop's Hatfield, after which he was Priest in charge of St John’s Church within the same parish.[3] Following this he was Vicar of Bishop's Stortford. Later he became Rural Dean of the same area and then (his final appointment before elevation to the Episcopate [4]) Archdeacon of St Albans. In retirement he continues to serve the Diocese as an Assistant Bishop.
